• Network with other organisations so that the best service possible can be available to the client

We strive to maintain a quality and comply fully with the OISC regulations, codes and rules. This involves external inspection (an audit) by the OISC. In order to comply Manchester Legal Services has a detailed Policy Manual and regular file reviews and checks are undertaken. There is continuing training and all client records and policies fully computerised. In addition to this the advisor is authorised by and registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to whom complaints can be made about any poor service.

Manchester Legal Services gives advice and assistance on all immigration, asylum and nationality issues to persons in the UK and abroad who are willing to instruct a for profit organization. We also present appeals against refusal decisions for all who have a right of appeal and also deal with bail and detention.

Immigration cases range from the dependents of those already settled in the UK (children, husbands, wives, elderly relations) seeking to come to the UK for permanent settlement and to visitors, students and others seeking to come to the UK for temporary purposes whose applications have been refused.

People already present in the UK often seek advice and representation from Manchester Legal Services about the admission of relatives and about their own applications to change their status or for further leave to remain. There are also those who face deportation from the UK and thus need representation for bail and detention hearings and cases. We also make written representations to the Home Office or Immigration Service on behalf of clients.

The organisation has access to online research & information units, which produce constantly updated country of origin information and also updates its information by leading publications on immigration, asylum and nationality law.
